Chairman of International Olympic Committee (IOC)

Lausanne, Switzerland, International Olympic Committee (IOC)

2008-03-06

Mr. Chairman, Jacques Rogge:

I’m represented by the family members of more than 200 citizens of Beijing, China to deliver this open letter to your hands. Therefore, I’ll send a special envoy to Lausanne, Switzerland, to hand this letter and representing letter to you.

Beijing police station secretly and illegally arrested more than 200 Beijing citizens by the alibi of “undermining Olympic”, their family members request IOC to held special meeting to discuss this issue, and suppress this evil act by Chinese Communist Party (CCP), and then release these kind-hearted people unconditionally. This is an event of serious human right violation.

Mr. Rogge, Olympic Games should have been intended to promote the improvement of China's human rights. But as you see now, such thing goes quite athwart, the Chinese Communist Party Regime uses the Games as subterfuge and so arbitrarily aggravates the persecution of Chinese people of all circles. Even worse, the CCP Regime has wantonly, illegally arrested some of them behind the curtain for they just come up with the slogan "Human rights, yes; Olympic Games, no!", and the tyranny has conviceted them of "undermining the Games".As IOC president, you bear moral obligation to this event and should thus make an appearance to negotiate with Beijing authority over the release of the people illegally, secretly jailed.

Chinese regime promised to improve human right in China during 2001 IOC meeting at Moscow, which was one of conditions to apply for 2008 Olympic, CCP regime made such promise on behalf of the State, therefore, this promise is a political act. However, CCP did not keep its promise after obtained the host. Not only does CCP improve human right in China, but also even more badly prosecute and absurd human right in China.

Unfortunately, you as a chairman of IOC do not suppress this anti-human crime by CCP, and help CCP to do more by your recent order of inhibiting any comment or critique to CCP by all athletes and staffs during Beijing Olympic period, otherwise, they will be punished. I have to point out that this order is very wrong; you’re helping CCP to commit crime, or crime helper. I ask you take back this order, and make an apology for this ordering.

As a chairman of IOC, you have responsibility to develop international sports and maintain international human right as well, which is required by the constitution of IOC, you can ignore it.

Best regard!

President Wu, China Interim Government
